Disaster funding call for flooded NSW areas

The New South Wales Government is under pressure to provide natural disaster funding for rain-drenched areas of the state's west.

Emergency Services Minister Steve Whan will travel to Coonamble in the state's north-west this afternoon to inspect the damage.

Further south, the Nationals member for Burrinjuck, Katrina Hodgkinson, is urging the Minister to declare the Young and Weddin Shires a natural disaster area.

She says heavy rain has damaged grain and cherry crops in the area.
